Its landscapes and surroundings boast nature as pristine as it is wild, allowing us to observe a wide variety of marine and terrestrial fauna.

Its main attractions are the volcano, as well as the whales that arrive each year to feed their calves.

Days of rain, sun, wind, and sea await us. Patagonia always surprises us.

Our Trip

Melimoyu is one of the lesser-known destinations in Chilean Patagonia. In this bay, you'll have the opportunity to spot whales, dolphins, penguins, and other marine mammals. Additionally, you'll explore pristine trails in search of the tiny Darwin's frog.

We'll gather in Castro, Chiloé, where one of our guides will accompany and lead you on your journey, taking care of all the logistics.

Day 1

Upon your arrival, we will greet you at the airport and provide a smooth transfer to our hotel in downtown Castro. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of all major attractions, restaurants, banks, and shops. We'll enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant, followed by visits to local artisan fairs, shops, and tourist attractions. In the afternoon, we'll embark on a scenic drive to the town of Quellón, where we'll savor a delectable dinner before embarking on an overnight ferry ride.

Day 2

As dawn breaks, we'll arrive in the charming village of Melimoyu, where we'll check into our cozy accommodations. After a delightful breakfast and a tour of the facilities, we'll embark on a leisurely hiking adventure along one of the nearby trails, providing our first glimpse into the region's breathtaking natural beauty. Following lunch, you'll have the afternoon at your leisure to unwind and explore the charming surroundings.

Day 3

After a hearty breakfast, we'll embark on an exciting hike in search of Darwin's frog (Rhinoderma darwinii), a tiny amphibian native to Chile. We'll delve into its unique habitat and fascinating behavior, gaining a deeper understanding of this remarkable species. In the afternoon, following a delectable lunch, we'll traverse a dense arrayán forest, culminating at the mouth of the Río Marchant, where the river meets the pristine coastline.

Day 4

Our fourth day is dedicated to an exhilarating marine safari. After a hearty breakfast, we'll embark on a 4-hour adventure, where you'll have the opportunity to witness a dazzling array of seabirds and marine mammals. Penguins, playful sea lions, graceful dolphins, and with a touch of luck, even whales could grace our path.

Upon returning to our accommodations, a delectable lunch will await us, followed by a leisurely afternoon at your disposal. Capture breathtaking memories with your camera, explore scenic trails, or unwind in the soothing warmth of hot tubs.

Day 5

Our day of birdwatching awaits! After a hearty breakfast, we'll embark on a leisurely walk through the forest, immersing ourselves in the rich biodiversity that surrounds us. We'll keep our eyes peeled for the vibrant plumage of various bird species and other fascinating creatures that inhabit this enchanting ecosystem. Pack a box lunch to fuel our adventure, and don't forget your binoculars and water for our upcoming hike.

Day 6

Today, you'll embark on an unforgettable Patagonian experience. After a hearty breakfast, we'll gather with a local family in Melimoyu who will share their captivating stories, unveil the secrets of their charming village, and invite us into their home for a traditional Patagonian asado, a barbecue feast that will tantalize your taste buds and warm your soul.

Day 7

Farewell, dear friends! After savoring a delectable breakfast, we'll bid adieu to our cozy accommodations and embark on a 12-hour ferry voyage through the mesmerizing Patagonian fjords. This scenic journey will transport us back to the charming town of Quellón, where we'll transfer to our hotel in Castro, culminating our day with a delightful dinner.

Day 8

After enjoying a final breakfast together, we'll check out of our hotel and bid farewell to the captivating city of Castro. A convenient transfer will whisk you to the airport, where you'll embark on your return flight or continue your journey to your next exciting destination.
